Guest scores and detailed hotel feedback
Despite shivering through the night even after requesting more blankets and the relatively high cost after tax, the hotel offered a well-appointed room located above the bar and restaurant. The service, while casual and not stiff, covered all areas efficiently, though parking was pricey. The location in central San Jose within walking distance of the SAP center and downtown area was a major plus, making it easy to find food nearby. The dining experience, while not exceptional with incomplete and lukewarm dishes, presented some satisfactory meat and fish options. Overall, the facilities were nice and functional.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed bag. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the city, and the live music at the bar added a great vibe to the night. However, the room I was allocated, even though a 'larger' room, was surprisingly tiny, which made me wonder how small the standard rooms must be. The service was hit and miss, with slow responses, but they did try to make it up by providing a small space heater. The dining experience was awesome, but unfortunately, the terrible service overshadowed this. Overall, a stay with some highs and lows.
The hotel rooms are exquisitely decorated with a Moroccan theme in the warmest colors but lack cleanliness. While it does have a slight old smokey smell, the location is walking distance to downtown favorites for food, drinking, and entertainment. However, the service left much to be desired with long waits and unhelpful staff, even though they were friendly. The dining experience, although made to order, was marred by high prices and incomplete or cold dishes. Overall, the hotel has some positives but needs improvement to justify the high price of $416.00 per night.
